The definition, in detail

Definition

It extends threat coverage past the corporate inbox.

Example

A field sales rep receives a text about a missed package delivery with a link to a fake carrier page while traveling.

How it is measured

Subject
Person
Event
Mobile threat defense
Provenance
Verizon DBIR

How it is used

Programs count "Targeted by mobile or SMS lures" per person from Device management (MDM/UEM) and read it beside the other Social engineering signals; it feeds 0 cohorts, 0 sequences and 2 breach scenarios.

A "targeted by mobile or SMS lures" record is evidence of what reaches the person (the threat side of the model). It says nothing on its own about what the person did.
