The definition, in detail

Definition

Each report gives the security team an early warning for everyone else who received it.

Example

A nurse reports a fake scheduling message; the SOC confirms it and pulls the same message from 40 other inboxes.

Provenance

How it is used

Programs count "Reports real phishing" per person from Email security and read it beside the other Social engineering signals; it feeds 0 cohorts, 0 sequences and 4 breach scenarios.

A "reports real phishing" event is evidence of a protective behavior; a vigilant behavior at any step breaks a sequence. It is one event, and it does not cancel the risky signals the same person carries.
