Telemetry
The raw events a source emits about a subject: a login, a click, a block, a grant, a survey answer. Signals are computed from telemetry; telemetry itself is kept to the retention the data governance sets.
Example
A data engineer keeps the raw sign-in log for a quarter and the computed signal for the full dwell window.
