The definition, in detail

Definition

The person's credentials, data and OAuth tokens at that vendor count as exposed until rotated.

Example

A file-transfer vendor announces a breach; the feed matches 140 employees with active accounts there, and the identity team rotates every linked token.

How it is measured

Subject
Person
Event
Vendor breach feed
Provenance
Verizon DBIR

How it is used

Programs count "Third-party app they use was breached" per person from Web, CASB & DLP and read it beside the other Web, cloud and SaaS signals; it feeds 0 cohorts, 1 sequence and 1 breach scenario.

A "third-party app they use was breached" record is evidence of what reaches the person (the threat side of the model). It says nothing on its own about what the person did.
